All The Fun Stuff

So, A large part of me enjoys reading. If I'm reading an actual novel I'm reading short, fan-made stories. I have over 250 works bookmarked, so of course I have found some work that isn't perfect. I have also Found some that are very, Very bad. These works that I will post below are things that I've read amd would like to change. All credit goes to the original author.

Starting with "I love.." and ending with "happy about.." obviously there is a lot here. For starters, she says "For example today I was wearing..." and though I must applaud her use of a capital I (that's not something I see often) I am kinda dumbfounded on where to start. There needs to be a coma after example. She uses both today and was, which in most cases doesn't work. If she changes clothes later in the story that would make sense but, sadly, she doesn't explicitly describe her outfit for another few chapters. There is also far to much description. I am a firm believe in the Show Don't Tell methood of writing and she is telling me a lot.

Okay, first of all I don't think that is how it works. There are lots of run on sentences. There are too many "...".  I think I understand that he is Head Marine Biologist; They only said it like twelve times. That's fine. I understand. I was once a beginner.

I guess what I'm getting at here is that sometimes it's okay to make mistakes. I certainly did and that's how I got to the point that I'm at now. I am an editor. It's what I'm good at. I love it. I love the reading and the fact that I can kinda roast people's awful writing and get paid for it. Do I want to do this forever? I'm not sure yet but I love it.
